Anstiss & Co. Sends Six to the AICPA National Not-For-Profit Industry Conference

The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) held its annual National Not-For-Profit Industry Conference at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National harbor, Maryland from June 18 through June 20, 2018.

Anstiss & Co. sends members of the not-for-profit audit team to the AICPA Conference each year in order to stay up-to-date on the latest developments and issues affecting our not-for-profit clients. Anstiss & Co.’s group of six gave was the largest representation from any firm in Massachusetts. Ray Anstiss, Jr. (Partner), Cheryl Voutour (Manager), Sara Salvi (Manager), Charles Lippman (Director of Audit and Outsource CFO Services), Jayne Andrews (Director of Not-for-Profit Services Group), and Brendan Toolin (Director of Audit & Small Business Advisory Services) attended the conference.

The three-day conference covers a variety of topics such as not-for-profit financial reporting, Single Audits, Form 990 reporting, and unrelated business income. Conference speakers consist of industry leaders from public accounting, not-for-profit executives, IRS representatives, and other government officials who work with non-profit organizations on a daily basis.

Key topics this year included implementation of Accounting Standards Update (ASU) 2016-14, Presentation of Financial Statements of Not-for-Profit Entities , ASU 2014-09, Revenue from Contracts with Customers, and Single Audit changes. The information obtained at this conference allows Anstiss & Co. to stay current on the latest developments affecting the not-for-profit industry and advise our clients on changes to regulations and reporting requirements which may affect them in the near future.
