Since joining Anstiss & Co. on a full-time basis in 1993, Ray has helped guide the firm’s growth, enabling Anstiss & Co. to become one of the 30 largest firms located in Massachusetts as ranked by the Boston Business Journal. He provides audit, tax and consulting services to closely held businesses in a wide variety of industries including high tech, manufacturing, distribution, construction, professional services, employee benefit plans and not-for-profits. He also has extensive experience with the design and implementation of stock option and retirement plans, mergers and acquisitions, development of strategic operating budgets, and providing outsourced CFO services. Ray has presented at various community based organizations on matters ranging from tax to not-for-profit governance.
Ray began his career in public accounting as a member of the audit staff in the Boston office of the international accounting firm of KPMG Peat Marwick. After four years on the audit staff, he pursued an advanced degree with a concentration in finance and taxation at the University of Notre Dame receiving his MBA with highest honors.
Ray serves as a member of several private company Boards of Directors and Advisory Committees including FIDUS Investment Corporation. Ray Anstiss is also a Director at Lowell General Hospital where he currently serves as the Chair of the Investment Committee.
He is a past member of the Board of Directors for Bishop Guertin High School, Greater Lowell Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Merrimack Valley, D’Youville Senior Care, Inc., Whistler House Museum, and Saints Medical Center. In addition, he was the inaugural winner of the Greater Lowell Chamber of Commerce Community Service Award
