Jeffrey A. Paquin, CPA
Director of Tax & Small Business Advisory Services
Jeff Paquin graduated from Southern New Hampshire University and has accumulated over 16 years of public accounting experience, five of which have been with Anstiss & Co. He is a member of the AICPA (American Institute of Public Accountants), the MSPCA (Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants), and PSN – Interise, Inc.
Jeff is a tax services specialist at Anstiss & Co., but he sees his function as much more than preparing tax returns for businesses and individuals. He is a consultant in every sense of the word. Whenever one of his business clients receives something that is not understood, such as a notice to renew health insurance coverage, Jeff usually gets a telephone call seeking advice and clarification.
Jeff loves the challenges associated with changes in the tax laws and he sees complicated tax research as fun! His clients directly benefit from the passion and dedication that Jeff brings to every engagement. He finds the constant movement of the tax code to be very interesting and he is always looking for ways his clients can benefit from any adjustments made in the tax provision as a result of legislative or regulatory changes.
Over the years, Jeff has been involved in tax compliance, tax planning, and estate planning for many closely held businesses. He enjoys working with small family businesses to ensure that wealth changes from one generation to the next with minimal tax implications. He also specializes in transition planning, guiding the transfer of business ownership from one generation to the next the most efficient and economical manner possible.
In his “spare time”, Jeff is a PSN (Private Sector Network) member with Interise, where he helps entrepreneurs to understand their financial statements during the three-part accounting module as a part of the Streetwise MBA program. This is just one of the ways that Jeff finds to give back to the community, something that is very important to him. His participation helps small businesses grow, which then provides jobs and stability in the communities they serve.
Family is the most important thing to Jeff and he has made every effort to attend the activities that his kids were involved with. Having recently been given the honor of being the “Father of the Bride,” Jeff has a renewed appreciation of how fast time goes by and the importance of getting everything you can out of the current moment.
