Mary E. Tiano, CPA | Senior Tax Manager

With more than 20 years of experience in taxation and public accounting, Mary serves as a Senior Tax Manager at Anstiss. She is a highly trained accountant with significant experience in corporate, partnership and individual taxation. At Anstiss & Co., she plans and reviews tax engagements, performs complex tax research projects, and provides supervision for others engaged in the same endeavors. As someone dedicated to her own professional development, Mary also provides invaluable in-house training seminars on taxation to our professional staff.

Mary spent the first 12 years of her career working with tax attorneys gaining significant experience in every aspect of taxation from preparation, planning, research and federal and state inquiry response. She continued her career in public accounting earning her CPA in 1997 and has been a vital member of the Anstiss team since 2006. Mary has been the firm’s leader in assisting clients through the 2009 and 2011 Offshore Voluntary Disclosure Initiative (OVDI) and the 2012 Offshore Voluntary Disclosure Program (OVDP). Mary has been instrumental in bringing taxpayers into compliance with their FBAR and FATCA disclosures. She enjoys working in every facet of taxation.

In addition to being a leader at Anstiss & Co., Mary takes great pleasure in other aspects of her life including civic involvement. Of her many venues of volunteerism, she has been a Town Meeting Representative for over 10 years, a religious education teacher, and a Co-Leader of a Girl Scout troop. Though she has had such recognition as being named Chelmsford Citizen of the Year in 2006, she considers her position as Co-Team Leader of Team Anstiss in the Merrimack Valley Heart Walk as one of the most satisfying.
